Fusselman appointed to Revenue investigation
Randolph County’s Prosecuting Attorney, Mike Fusselman, has been appointed to the committee investigating recent alleged illegal activity by the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The committee is known as the "Bipartisan Investigative Committee on Privacy Protection."

Seven Moberly High School students headed to the State Choir Contest held at the University of Missouri, Columbia, on Thursday, April 24. They are Naomi Lewis, Callie Robinson, Emily McCarter, Colin Rampton, Nathan Hogan, Eli Wilhite, and Trae Riley. Look for their results in next week's MMI.

Nichols, Lewis facing death penalty for Easter spree
On Friday, April 12, Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Fusselman filed his notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Jeffrey Nichols, 22, and Christopher Lewis, 18, both of Macon.
Nichols and Lewis were arrested on April 1 in Macon for the suspicion of stabbing Carmelita Kaser, 92, of Moberly. Kaser was found dead in her home before midnight on Easter Sunday with a large wound on her neck caused by an apparent sharp object.

Moberly's David Fleming is American College of Physicians President-elect
A local doctor will serve as President of the American College of Physicians next year.
David Fleming, MD, a childhood resident of Moberly, was recently named President-elect of the ACP. His one-year term in that position began during the College’s annual scientific meetings in San Francisco, Calif., which began yesterday (Thursday, April 11).

Schweich auditing Randolph Co.
It was announced on Tuesday (April 9) that Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich and his office have begun an audit of Randolph County.
"This is a routine audit," Spence Jackson (Media Director for the State Auditor’s Office) told the MMI late Tuesday afternoon. "We typically audit counties who do not elect a county auditor."
Randolph County is one such county.
